Thanksgiving weekend

We have windows and half the doors in. We received all the door but we were sent two of the wrong doors. So we will have to wait till next weekend to be all dried in. We got a lot done this week with three whole days to work on the house. We put up two more walls in the basement, so we could start working on our stairs, Dan was able to frame some angle walls to finish our vault in the family room, and we started putting up electrical boxes. Yea! We also had to go to Home Depot to pick out our bathroom fixtures and get door handles. There are a lot of decisions to make when you are building a house. I just hope we pick the right stuff.

November 18, 2009

Last week we were not able to work at the house because it was snowing. So Dan and my Brother took the Day off on Wednesday to help us finish our roof. Our roofer came on Wednesday and put the drip edge up and dried our house in.

We are hoping to put in windows and finish the pony wall in our Family/Kitchen on Saturday November 21, 09

We went out of town for a couple days and when we got back this is what are house looks like.

October 31, 2009

We have been working on getting the roof sheathed for quite some time now. Who new we picked a complicated roof line. Dan took the day off work on Friday and my brother Sam came up, they worked on the east side of the house. On Saturday October 31, 2009, We had an amazing crew, we got a lot done, Thanks to my Dad, Sam, Danny, Zack, Carrie, Kent, Adam, K.C., Luke!

Half A Roof

We almost have a roof! well half a one.

We have most of the back of the house covered with ply-wood,
We have the front of the house left and that should be fun.

Roof Trusses

This is what the house looked like before we started working on Saturday September 26, 2009.

We scheduled a crane to come and help us lift trusses on the house, The crane driver was suppose to show up between 1:00 -2:00. He showed up at 12:40.

This is the First Truss we put up on the house, It is a pretty cool process.

This is our house about half way threw around 3:30.

We are all finished, it took awhile but we got it all up. We had a very opinionated crane driver. He was telling us how to do things, it was not fun.

September 19, 2009

We finished putting up all the walls in the Upstairs and put on all the top plates. Our Roof Trusses or coming on Monday September 21, 2009. We are putting the trusses up on September 26, 2009 with a big crane. Here are some pic of what it is starting to look like.

We have all the walls up on the Exterior.

Interior Walls

We framed half of the Interior walls today, we meet with are truss guy on Friday. We will be ordering them on Monday. It takes a week or so to build them.

September 26, 2009 we will be putting trusses on the house. Yea, we will be getting a roof.

We framed and almost sheathed the whole garage which we were hoping to do. We almost met our goal.

We have all the Exterior walls up for the house that are needed for the trusses. We will be framing the garage on Monday September 7, 2009. We are hoping to have it all framed and sheathing by the end of Labor Day, we will see where we get with our goal.
